Thread: Some questions about HDR 10 and Dolby Vision

Default Some questions about HDR 10 and Dolby Vision

My TV is the LG OLED55B7, 2017

I have Avengers Infinity War in 4K UHD on Fandango Now, and on Vudu. Fandango Now uses HDR, Vudu uses Dolby.

I started watching the movie in Fandango before I realized I have it in Vudu as well, so I switched over for the Dolby Vision which I thought was supposed to be better. I found that the Dolby Vision was very washed out compared to the HDR version I was watching. I tried to adjust my settings got Dolby, even have them set exactly the same as HDR, and Dolby Vision still looks worse.

HDR seems to have darker darks/blacks so the colors pop a lot better.

Am I missing something? Isn't Dolby supposed to be superior?
