Una pequeña carta dirigida al New York Times y al Washington Post:
As I have read some articles that usually refer to the Mexico City mayor as if he were almost a saint, I think you should be more informed about this fellow:
His absolute disrespect over the Mexican institutions, and even President Vicente Fox; besides all the corruption scandals in which some of his employees had been involved, recieving gross amounts on bribe money at the begining of last year.
So to give you at least an idea of what can you expect from this guy, I enclose the folllowing article that describes the problems as he is, and without any decieving nature:

All allegation made by López Obrador and his followers can be resumed to a one single phrase: In Mexico always there has been impunity. Therefore, in this case should also be impunity."
Such argument is deviant. For this, lacking of legal basis to bar the lifting of his immunity, Lopez Obrador has based his defense in politics, disregarding law.
In a different occasion, [b]President Fox asked a question: and why me?
Before Congressmen, Lopez Obrador also asked Why not me? That is like saying: "If the law did not apply in other cases (As Fobaproa, (the bankruptcy of all national banks in 1994), as in Fox´s Friends ( foreign money given to Fox presidential campaign) and the Pemexgate ( the use of union funds of Petroleos Mexicanos The Oil producing state owned company, by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) to support Mr. Francisco Labastida, who was the PRI candidate for the last Presidential election, that lose in the polls ), an if we live in a impunity country, why there is no exception also with me, without applying the law now? Why is not allowed that my breaking the law keeps without any punishment? Lopez Obrador is right saying that we have impunity in Mexico. Certainly law enforcement frequently is not applied because political matters. In reference to the lifting immunity to Lopez Obrador, the Congressmen determination obeyed clearly this motive. Saying with another words, for incorrect reasons,[i] the correct decision was taken. A cynic would say, [i] Make the miracle done by the devil"" In this case, the Congressmen from two parties, the PRI and the PAN, made the miracle to set up a good precedent : we should suppose, risking being naïve, that from now on, no politician would be aver the law, and that the law will be applied by its precise terms without considering the effects its application would take. What possible consequences could come after lifting the immunity to Lopez Obrador? Risking to be wrong, I think there are not many:the Congresmen made The Congressmen did something more when they lifted the immunity to Lopez Obrador: taking out the forum, Without his post, and until he is candidate, he won´t have the media at his disposal, neither the presence that because of them, he had in all the national territory-
